A few weeks back I was struggling to create content consistently. I already knew that people only buy from the person whom they know, like and trust.
So in order to build the know, like, and trust factor among my audience, I needed to show up frequently with fresh content.
But when I tried doing so, I remained consistent for some days but then life happens...
Even though I felt pressure to create new social posts everyday, I almost lacked consistency. Sometimes I felt inspired, other times I was either lazy or too busy on other stuffs which I thought were more crucial...
I was trying hard to consistently post content but in the process, I was wasting many hours and getting fewer returns. This made me frustrated and I almost quit creating content.
But, then I discovered something that truly changed my life.
Basically I created a piece of micro content that took me 3-minutes to create. When I posted this on social media, within few hours of posting, only 30 people consumed my content and some of them were random people I didn't even knew...
2 of them messaged me to ask if I could help them with my service. And after 10 minutes of text message exchange, I was able to close a deal of £ 800 per month.
I couldn’t believe this was happening.
Bagging a “£800 paying client” for just 15 minutes of work on social media? That too on a monthly recurring basis.
Yes, I worked with that client for several months and got paid £800 per month.
That was the exact time when I realised the true potential of creating bite-size (micro) content on social media.
Hence, I then tried testing different types of content I was creating and how much time each of content format used to take.
Basically, I categorised various content types in categories based on time required for content creation like 1-minute content, 2-minutes content, 3-minutes content, 5-minutes content, and so on...
After going through my experiments and various testing, WHAT I FOUND OUT was truly surprising:
